Metallic Guided Bearings

Metallic Guided Bearings

A Metallic Guided Bearing is a specialized structural solution designed engineered explicitly to guide horizontal translation and manage multi-directional tracking in bridges.

Unlike traditional POT, spherical, or elastomeric bearings, a standalone metallic guided bearing handles zero vertical load. Instead, its primary engineering function is to absorb, resist, and channel intense lateral forces—such as wind loads, seismic activity, or vehicular braking forces—in a single direction, all while allowing unrestricted, smooth movement along the orthogonal axis.
